Skales v12.2.0 - Still Freeze

We've just released Skales v12.2.0, bringing a few key improvements to your desktop AI experience. This update focuses on making your interactions smoother and more reliable, especially when working with images and different AI models.

Profile Guidance Preserved

Previously, when you imported a tuning profile, the guidance text could get cut off after 600 characters. This meant important instructions were often lost. We've increased this limit significantly, so your profiles will now retain their full guidance, ensuring your AI understands your instructions completely. If a profile is still too long, it will be logged rather than silently truncated.

Image Understanding with Your Chosen Model

When you sent an image to Skales, it sometimes used a different model than the one you selected for the response. This could lead to unexpected answers and incorrect billing for paid providers. Now, images are processed correctly by your chosen vision model, and your selected chat model will provide the answer. We've also improved how Skales detects vision capabilities, ensuring local models are recognised and image-related messages are clearer. Importantly, images and their descriptions are now saved with your conversation, so you can ask follow-up questions about what was seen.

ChatGPT Subscription Everywhere

If you use a ChatGPT subscription, you'll find it much easier to select it now. Previously, your signed-in account wasn't always visible in the model pickers. This update ensures your ChatGPT subscription appears consistently across all model selection points, just like any other provider.

Consistent Image Capability Detection

We've streamlined how Skales identifies which models can process images across different platforms like chat, Telegram, and WhatsApp. This ensures a uniform experience and accurate detection of vision capabilities, no matter how you're interacting with Skales.
