Skales v12.7.3 - Drop-In
A release about being answered. A local provider that would not talk, tools that reported more than they did, and a call you can now interrupt in the middle of a word.
We've just released Skales v12.7.3, a small update focused on making things work more reliably, especially with local AI models and how Skales communicates.
LM Studio and Local Providers
We've fixed an issue where LM Studio wasn't being recognised correctly, meaning its models weren't showing up in Skales. This is now resolved, and you should see your LM Studio models available for use. Additionally, group chats can now be pointed at your own OpenAI-compatible endpoint, allowing you to run them on a local model without needing an API key.
Clearer Error Messages
When things don't go as planned, Skales will now provide more specific feedback. For instance, if a mail server refuses a password, it will tell you which credential it wants and where to get it. Similarly, if a calendar can't be read, it will clearly state that instead of just shortening your week.
Interruption and Communication
Call Mode now interrupts mid-word when you start speaking, rather than waiting for a sentence to finish. This makes for a more natural back-and-forth. Iris also uses your name more sparingly, only at the start of a conversation or when directly addressing you.
New here? Skales is the private AI agent you install like an app - free for personal use, any model, everything stays on your machine.
