Skales v12.9.30 - DeepDive

DeepDive is named after what the coding window does now. Instead of a summary and a path in a sentence, a run puts what it actually produced on the table: the picture a tool took, under the call that took it; the thinking behind a step; the cards a lookup brought back; code finally treated like code.

We're pleased to share Skales v12.9.30, a release focused on clarity and control, with a new licence that reflects our commitment to private, local-first AI.

Skales Business is Back

The Business page has returned to the sidebar. This is the dedicated space for information about commercial licences, evaluation licences, and how to get started. We've streamlined the inquiry process to be just four short steps, saving your progress after the first. The page now fetches commercial terms live, meaning updates can be made without a new app release.

Clearer Licence Agreement

Skales now asks you to accept its licence once during the first-run setup. You'll see the full agreement text, not a summary, presented clearly. This ensures you understand the terms under which you're using Skales. The licence text is read directly from the file included with the app, so what you see is exactly what you get.

Reporting and Data Handling Improvements

You can now report offensive or incorrect answers directly from Skales. A right-click on an answer reveals a "Report" option, opening a small window to detail the issue. This helps us improve the models. We've also made deleting conversations less final; deleted chats are moved to a trash folder for a month, allowing you to restore them if needed.

Enhanced Licence Acceptance Flow

We've improved the licence acceptance flow to ensure you see and agree to the terms before interacting with the model. If there are issues preventing acceptance, the app will now clearly state the reason. Declining the licence also provides more information on your current data location and access to previous releases.

Updates Sep 30, 2026 Skales v12.9.46 - Mend Small things that add up. Skales Local shows GPU only when the graphics card really does the work, and names the reason when it does not. Every local model carries its own context and GPU-layer setting. Updates Sep 29, 2026 Skales v12.9.45 - Steer Skales now brings craft with it: reviewed skill packs for motion, short-form video, frontend design, Office documents, print and brand work and persistent research load by themselves where they help, letters come out on your letter paper, a project becomes a launch video with /launch, and Godot games are built, run and recorded from Code. Every plugin page offers three modes, from doing it yourself to letting the AI do it with each release step waiting for your click, even across a restart. Long runs show every step with its cost, and a run that cannot work says so before it spends anything. Updates Sep 25, 2026 Skales v12.9.40 - Lantern We named it after what it does to the dark corners. A course used to be the thing Skales could describe but not deliver. Now it builds one, voices it, writes the subtitles from the audio, checks the package the way an LMS reads it, and publishes it into your existing Moodle activity without wiping anyone's progress. The same light reached the rest. Flow is a canvas you can pan, zoom and queue work onto, where clicking an element edits the file behind it. Chat and Code work on your own servers over SSH, write Word and PowerPoint, and put every file where you say. Long work now survives a restart instead of starting over. 132 additions, 73 fixes, listed one by one. Full changelog at the Update-Page.
