Skales v12.9.45 - Steer

Skales now brings craft with it: reviewed skill packs for motion, short-form video, frontend design, Office documents, print and brand work and persistent research load by themselves where they help, letters come out on your letter paper, a project becomes a launch video with /launch, and Godot games are built, run and recorded from Code. Every plugin page offers three modes, from doing it yourself to letting the AI do it with each release step waiting for your click, even across a restart. Long runs show every step with its cost, and a run that cannot work says so before it spends anything.

We've just released Skales v12.9.45, a step forward in making your desktop AI more helpful and responsive. This update focuses on giving you more control and clarity in how Skales works with your projects.

Directing Skales Code

Skales Code is now more like a collaborator you can guide. You can type messages mid-turn, and they'll be added to the current work. The Stop command acts immediately, keeping the interface snappy even during long sessions. Answers arrive complete, and any message you type while Skales is working waits visibly, ready to be edited, sent, or discarded. You can also refuse a command with a clear reason the model will understand. Familiar shortcuts like Esc, Shift+Tab, and slash commands are now integrated, and the status bar clearly shows the model, context, and cost.

Learning Your Workflow

Skales now learns from your habits more effectively. It takes quiet reviews every hour, noting what worked and turning it into procedures. Commands like /learn, /refine, and /btw give you direct ways to steer its learning. When Skales is controlling your screen, you'll see it clearly, with a frame in your accent colour and a visual indicator on every click. Flow now respects your memory settings more closely, only using it for fictional work when you explicitly ask, and it learns from your feedback.

Bringing Craft to Your Projects

This release introduces new "skill packs" that bring specialised craft capabilities directly into Skales. You'll find tools for motion design, short-form video editing, frontend design, working with Office documents, print and brand work, and managing persistent research loads. Letters can now be generated with your letterhead, and projects can become launch videos with a simple /launch command. Even Godot games can be built, run, and recorded directly from Skales Code. Each plugin page offers multiple modes, from hands-on to fully AI-driven, with each step awaiting your confirmation.
