It runs on your machine
Conversations, memory, files and the workspace live on the computer, not in an account of ours. There is nothing to migrate out of if you stop, and no seat that can lock you out of your own work.
Your key, or no key at all
Bring a key from any of 53 providers and the traffic goes straight there. Or run the model, the speech recognition and the speech output on your own hardware with Skales Local, and the work never leaves the building.
Skales IQ keeps nothing, per request
The one path that does go through us. Every call carries zero data retention as a flag on the request itself, so the serving provider must not keep the prompt or the answer. Not an account setting somebody could forget to tick.
It asks before it acts
Sending, publishing, deleting and spending wait for a click, every time, whoever started the run. A scheduled job at three in the morning has nobody at the screen, so it writes the letter and parks it rather than sending it. An agent that could not be stopped would not be a tool.
Nothing locks you in
A plugin you had us build exports as one file and goes wherever you want, including to a competitor. Your chats and files are already on your disk. Stop paying and the free agent keeps working with your own key - the seat buys supply and support, never access to your own work.
Erasure is a code path, not a promise
One request removes your records from every list we keep, and what is left is swept after 36 months whether anybody asks or not. Every mail we send carries a way out that needs no login and keeps working.
What that is not: a certificate. We will name in writing which providers a request can reach and what each one is contracted to do - ask, and it comes back as a document rather than a badge.

Workspaces
Personal, company and department beside each other. Chats, files, memory, agents and connections belong to a workspace, not to a machine. Switching one does not carry the other one’s keys, persona or costs across.

Cost control
A usage journal per organisation, cost centre and person, kept apart from the chats it came from. Budgets that reserve before a run starts, so two devices cannot spend the same euro twice. An unknown price stays visibly unknown instead of being counted as zero.

Infrastructure profiles
Managed provider connections: your own gateway, Skales IQ, a direct provider or a local model, each with its auth, its capability list, its data region and its health check. Admins set them up; the people using them only see what they are allowed to use.

Department packs
Accounting, marketing, HR: a versioned pack of persona, skills, tool rights, sources and templates. Rights are enforced, not described in a prompt. A pack can be updated, withdrawn and rolled back.

Joining, not founding
Invitation, SSO and SCIM. An employee joins an organisation without becoming its owner, gets the department they were authorised for, and sees what was provisioned to them before the first run.

What does Skales cost for a company?
It starts at nothing. The commercial terms are being set with the first design partners, so what is on offer today is an evaluation licence: free, the full scope, no seat limit, and a short written confirmation that names its end date. Do we need a licence to use Skales at work?
Yes. Skales is free for private and educational use; commercial use needs a written licence. It covers using Skales inside your company, the number of seats, and passing seats on to clients of your own.
What does a seat actually add over the free download?
Skales IQ, so there is no API key to bring and nothing to set up; priority support with a first answer within 24 hours on working days; your own steps built as a plugin the agent can call; seats you can manage and pass on to your clients; and a monthly roadmap letter with a say in the order. Can the agent really work overnight, with nobody at the computer?
Yes. A trigger can fire on a clock expression, on a file landing in a folder, or on mail arriving in a mailbox. It is armed the moment it is made, no window has to stay open, and it survives a restart. What it does NOT do unattended is send, publish or spend: a scheduled run drafts those and the sending waits for your click.
What is coming with Skales Business in v13?

Only if you choose Skales IQ, which is the managed AI supply a seat includes. With your own key or a local model, nothing goes through us at all - Skales runs on your machine and talks to the provider you picked. Both ways are supported on a paid seat.
